Introduction to Handblock Printing Workshop

Join us at Kirubajinie to explore the ancient and beautiful art of Indian Block Printing. Our two and a half hour workshop is designed to teach you the techniques, tips, and tricks needed to create stunning prints.

Most importantly, we want to create an environment conducive to being creative, and feeling relaxed, offering a sense of accomplishment in creating something you are proud of.

What You’ll Experience:

A Guided Introduction:
We’ll begin with a short demonstration to walk you through the process, how to apply the paint, align your block, and press with intention. No rush, no pressure.

Practice & Play:
You’ll start by printing on scrap fabric until you feel confident and comfortable. It’s all about finding your rhythm and enjoying the process.

Make Your Own Beautiful Tea Towel:
Once you’re ready, you’ll print your own custom tea towel to take home. A unique, handmade piece perfect as a gift or keepsake.

100+ Hand-Carved Wooden Blocks:
Choose from our carefully curated collection of over 100 blocks, featuring a mix of traditional Indian motifs and contemporary designs.

A selection of these blocks are unique to Kirubajinie, created exclusively for our brand.  Adding something truly special to your piece. Each block with its own story.

All Materials Supplied:
We provide everything you need such as blocks, paints, fabric, and aprons. Just bring yourself and a willingness to explore.

No Experience Needed:
Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who loves making, this workshop is for everyone.

Terms & Conditions:
Workshop spaces are limited to a small number so that enough attention can be provided to those participating Handblock printing can get messy! We advise you wear something you don’t mind getting paint on. Aprons will be provided
